After not speaking for 13 years, the Oscar-winning Precious star is working with director Lee Daniels to replace Octavia Spencer in a new Netflix film called Demon House.

Over the weekend, the pair solidified their reconciliation publicly. The comedian/actress brought Daniels on stage during her comedy event. He told Mo’Nique in front of a packed crowd:

“[It took me] a long time to realize [this but] I am so sorry for hurting you in any way that I did. Y’all, she was my best friend — my best friend. Y’all think that Precious was just … That was God working through both of us.”

    He continued,

“And we’re gonna f–king do it again. I love you. I love you.”

Mo’Nique last worked with Daniels in the 2009 film Precious that brought her the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

The pair had a falling out with the comedian calling out Daniels, along with Oprah Winfrey on multiple occasions.

In short, she accused Daniels, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry of blackballing her because she would not promote the film during awards season.

At the time, Mo’Nique saud that promoting the film wasn’t a part of her contract and she didn’t want to spend additional time away from her family.

Because of this, the actress and the director allegedly didn’t speak for 13 years. Nonetheless, they’ll be working together on this new project.
